I actually did this years ago when my boyfriend at the time and I were living in an extremely small bungalow in Westwood. He needed somewhere for his giant monitor to live, and I refused to let it take up our tiny kitchen table. Enter, the closet office! He could open the closet door, pull a chair over, and work to his heart's content. When he was done working, he wouldn't even have to clean up if he didn't want to and I'd be none the wiser.
I think this is so brilliant for so many reasons. People often are trying to make one room do SO many things: it's a guest room, a playroom, an office, a storage space. Instead, I'd rather have a smaller spot to be my office and have some boundaries.
Add a desktop, pull some power, and store your files, supplies, cords, and books on shelves above your head.
